I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.
My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.
The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background.
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods. Simply put, you will “crowd out” the unhealthy food in your diet. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you all the way.
As an Integrative Health Coach and a graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the University of Southern California, I have decided to share my story and how it all started. I hope that my story will motivate and inspire others to pursue their passion and find wellness.
My whole life growing up I had another idea of “success”. I believed that success meant earning a high salary, working in a highly esteemed career path, and being skinny. I studied hard to land a career in Finance, and I earned my spot at a well-known Bank six month before graduation. I did these things because I thought that I should be doing them based on the society’s definition of success. I persuaded myself that this is something that I love.
Working in the Finance field by day and living a social life by night in Los Angeles, I was constantly stressed and anxious, got sick all the time, had an unhealthy obsession with fad diets and over exercising, which turned into multiple eating disorders. I was running on autopilot, had no motivation, or purpose.
I was tired of living like that. I knew that I need a change, to get my health back, find a motivation and passion. What can I be proud of 1 year, 5 years, 10 years from now? This is when I realized that the real SUCCESS is being healthy and happy. I slowly started eating real whole foods, exercising for mood not weight, and engaging in daily practices for a meaningful life. As a result, I became physically healthier, I no longer had trouble sleeping, my digestion and skin improved, and eating disorders became experiences of the past.
After about three years into my career, I made the decision to part ways from Finance and took the leap to pursue my passion of health and nutrition. I became a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the biggest nutrition school in the world located in New York City. There I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories; everything from Ayurveda, gluten-free, and Paleo, to raw, vegan, and macrobiotics, and everything in between.
I was able to improve my quality of life and now I help make a difference in the lives of others. The feeling of pure joy when clients achieve their goals, after thinking they couldn’t, is indescribable. Helping people towards healthier habits and steering them away from lifestyle-related illnesses is something that I call my passion.
Now, I wake up to what I love, and most importantly, I enjoy life. I want to show you that YOU can do it too through an Integrative approach to health. Contact me so that I guide you on your personal journey to health and happiness.
